The Valdivia, Chile Earthquake or The Great Chilean Earthquake
On the 22nd of May, 1960 a tremendous earthquake struck the coast of Southern Chile, near the city of Valdivia and out of all the cities that were close to the coast of Chile the city that suffered the most was Valdivia. It was the most powerful earthquake ever recorded on Earth and it did not just cause devastation to Chile it also trimmed a Tsunami which swept across the Pacific causing destruction to many lives. The majority of the deaths were caused by the huge killer wave, tsunami and in Chile it went away taking everything out to sea, leaving the people of Chile in devastation. The earthquake destroyed the land and the lives of all those people. Most of the land in Chile was forever change from the movement of the earthquake.
