Economic Impact
The majority of the damage and deaths during the Great Chilean earthquake were caused by the chain of tsunamis that were generated by the earthquake. The tsunami swept across the Pacific ocean not just killing lives, but also wrecking everything it touched with in Chile a catastrophic of $550 million dollars in damage by the earthquake and tsunami. Hawaii was devastated with $75 million in damage and Japan was left with $50 million in damage. The tsunami had also affected numerous other areas.
