Even though the earthquake was the strongest ever recorded the majority of the destruction was caused by the enormous killer wave-tsunami. It smashed coastal buildings, industrial structures, homes and it hurled boats onto the land. The earthquake in Chile killed 2,000 people and 3,000 people were injured. When the earthquake finally stoped it left Chile with 2,000,000 people homeless. The earthquake had trimmed a tsunami that bolted across the Pacific harming everything in its way it strike Hawaii where it killed 61 innocent people, in Japan it wiped out 178 people and in the Philippines 32 people were ether dead or missing. The tsunami lead to numerous life stock and people being killed which left many families with a tremendous pain to the loss of the people that had helplessly died in this natural disaster. Natural disasters can not be stop, but we can help prevent it from being something big like organising a place of shelter for those who lose their homes and when they start again building their homes they can try to make it earthquake-resistant. This earthquake had foreshocks so most of the people fled to the streets which was a good idea because if you were inside a structure it will fall down on you.
